Columbus Georgia Photographer | And Biscuit makes three.

Summer has been so busy around these parts that blogging has had to take a back seat lately! But I’m going to try and get caught up, starting with these sweeties.

These two brothers and their new puppy, Biscuit, were just so fun. I loved this session so much – for so many reasons…first of all, little boys…sigh. Add in a new, rambunctious puppy, and all the wonder and sweet moments of little boyhood – bruises and scrapes, long eyelashes, puppy kisses, bubble blowing, late evening laughter, all wrapped up in soft summer sunlight. It really was perfection. :)

As we walked back to our cars at the end of the session, the smallest brother smiled and said, “Well, see you next picture day!” then skipped off. Perfect ending to a great evening. :)

Holly Jo - Just too precious for words! Reflection of: Don’t worry, be HAPPY! Great work! :)

Hillary - That is a very cute puppy! Cute boys too.

DebraP - Love these Trudy! You can see such personality in all of these. They tell a wonderful story!

Columbus GA Photographer | Freckles….times two.

I had the chance to photograph these two sisters when they were up visiting from Florida this summer.  Oh, how I love freckles and red hair.  Always have.  And sisters – there’s just something about them.  Recently, my own older sister Val had surgery, and as I was sitting with her in the recovery room, a lab tech came in.  As she was tending to Val, she looked at me and asked if I was her sister.  Then she talked about how she had lost her own older sis, and how much she loved seeing sisters together – how it made her heart full.

That’s what I thought about when I was photographing these two.  How great that they have such a love for each other…there’s nothing quite like a sister.

Hillary - They are beautiful! Great pictures!

Holly Jo Nails - Wow, so beautiful! Your creative talent has captured some of the sweetest moments they’ll ever share! :)

DebraP - Trudy, these are beautiful! What an amazing memory for these two sisters. I bet mom was in tears. I know I would be. Gorgeous work again!!

Columbus Georgia Photographer | time in a bottle

If I could save time in a bottle…. I would’ve surely save the nights I got to spend with my little Noah this summer.  He’s my cousin’s son, and he just turned 9 last month.  Still little boy, not quite teenager yet….sigh…  I want to drink every little bit of him in every time I see him.  :)  Love you, little beach boy.

Bess - LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! :)

Bess - LOVE x’s a kazillion!!! :)

Holly Jo Nails - Little boys always take my heart! These are so beautiful; I guess I better say handsome! Incredible work; feel the love! :)

Heather - So adorable!! If we could all save time in a bottle!! You did a great job!

summer girl | Columbus Georgia Photographer

I’ve known this sweet girl since she was knee-high to a grasshopper. When she would hug me, her head was just about even with my waist. Now she is as tall (or maybe even taller) then me. How do these things happen?!

It was so fun to spend the evening with her (and mom & sis) laughing and talking. She’s a sweet, beautiful girl & I enjoyed every minute of it. We moved around a lot during her session, and I had a hard time choosing my favorites to blog. So… I chose quite a few.  :)  Can’t wait to see y’all again for big sister’s turn. :)

Heather - These look so beautiful and fun!

Holly Jo - Naturally beautiful!! :)

Southern Child Magazine

Kelly (editor, Southern Child Magazine) contacted me recently about using an image for the cover of their May issue.  They are such a great publication, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.   If you aren’t familiar with it, Southern Child Magazine is a publication devoted to “helping the hundreds of thousands of children in foster care find forever, loving families.”  Such an amazing outreach!

Much to our surprise, the photo Kelly picked was of a little boy who had actually been placed in a family’s home at 4 months, was adopted at age 2 by the same family, and is a precious, happy, healthy 4 year old who catches frogs and spends his days with his brothers, and a mom and dad who absolutely adore him.  God works in amazing ways, doesn’t he? =)

Please take a moment to visit this wonderful publication – you can find Southern Child on facebook here, on their website here, and you can view their monthly magazine here.

Thanks so much again, Kelly and Southern Child team – I’m so glad to have been introduced to an organization with such a huge heart for children!

Holly Jo - Stunningly beautiful child! God’s creation is so “AMAZING” on every level! His plan for your talent and love for children is so much bigger than you realize; it’s only just begun! :)

oh boy | Columbus GA Child Photographer

Jen and Meg contacted me recently to get updated photos of their four (yes, four!) boys.  They both have 2 boys each, who also happen to be cousins, and they all range in age from under 1 year old to 5 years old.

Needless to say, we had a very active and spirited session, complete with a friendly, wandering (wet!) dog that appeared out of the lake to join us. =)  In fact, we had so much fun that we ran out of light, and decided to have part 2 another evening.

Here are a few of my favorites of their sweet boys…

I have to take a second to explain these next few images. =)  This sweetie pie was in the process of telling me the story of how he and his girlfriend may have, sort of, accidentally kissed.  But of course you didn’t hear that from me.

So much happiness and joy from these little guys —Thanks so much, Jen and Meg!

April - Trudy, I am in love with the pastel colors! These are so awesome, I love it!!!
